Aged Synovial Fluid
Aged synovial fluid is the thick, lubricating liquid found in joints that has decreased in quality over time or with joint wear. It normally helps reduce friction and provides nutrients to joint tissues. As it ages or with joint conditions like arthritis, it becomes less effective—thicker, less viscous, and possibly containing more debris or inflammatory cells. This change can lead to increased joint friction, pain, and stiffness, making movement more difficult. Aged synovial fluid is often a sign of joint degeneration or disease and can be identified through medical analysis to help diagnose joint problems.
