Afropessimism

Afropessimism is a theoretical perspective that examines the ongoing effects of anti-Blackness and racial discrimination, emphasizing that Black people face systemic marginalization rooted in the history of slavery and racial violence. It argues that Black existence is marked by a fundamental separation from social inclusion and recognition within mainstream society. This viewpoint highlights persistent structural inequalities and challenges the idea that progress has fully addressed racial injustices. Instead, afropessimism invites critical reflection on the deep, enduring racial structures that continue to shape the experiences and perceptions of Black communities.
