Afrique Occidentale Française organization

Afrique Occidentale Française (AOF) was a federation of French colonies in West Africa, established in 1904. It united territories such as Senegal, Mali, Niger, Guinea, and others under a single administrative structure to coordinate governance, trade, and military matters. Although France maintained control, AOF aimed to promote regional cooperation and development. The federation existed until 1958, when each colony began moving toward independence, leading to the formation of separate nations. AOF played a key role in shaping the political and economic landscape of modern West Africa.
