African wildcat

The African wildcat (Felis lybica) is a small, solitary feline native to parts of Africa, the Middle East, and parts of Asia. It closely resembles a domestic cat but is wild and adaptable, typically inhabiting savannas, deserts, and grasslands. It has a slim body, short fur, and a bushy tail with a black tip. African wildcats are carnivores, hunting small mammals, birds, and insects for food. They are important because they are the ancestors of the domestic cats we keep as pets today. Their behavior and traits have significantly contributed to the domestication process.
