African Penguin

The African Penguin, also known as the Jackass Penguin, is a species native to the southern coast of Africa. Recognizable by its black back and white belly, with a distinctive black face mask, it is a medium-sized penguin that can reach about 60 centimeters (2 feet) tall. Adapted to warm climates, it has a layer of fat and feathers that help insulate it. These social birds live in colonies, primarily feeding on small fish, squid, and other marine creatures. Despite their charming appearance, African Penguins face threats from overfishing, habitat loss, and pollution, making conservation efforts vital for their survival.
