African Muslim
African Muslims are individuals from Africa who follow Islam, a monotheistic religion founded on the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad. They comprise diverse ethnic groups and cultures across the continent, including North Africa (like Egypt and Morocco), West Africa (such as Nigeria and Senegal), East Africa (including Somalia and Ethiopia), and Southern Africa. African Islam blends traditional customs with Islamic practices, resulting in unique cultural expressions. The majority of African Muslims observe core beliefs like the five pillars of Islam—faith, prayer, fasting, charity, and pilgrimage—while also engaging in local traditions that enrich their religious identity.
