African American English

African American English (AAE), also known as African American Vernacular English (AAVE), is a legitimate dialect of English spoken primarily by some Black Americans. It has its own unique grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and stylistic features that develop through historical, cultural, and social experiences. AAE is a rich linguistic system with regional and individual differences, serving as an important cultural identity. Recognizing AAE as a valid dialect promotes understanding and respect for linguistic diversity, highlighting that language varies naturally across different communities without implying less intelligence or capability.
