Afghan women's rights
Afghan women's rights have historically involved access to education, employment, and participation in public life. However, since the Taliban regained control in 2021, many of these rights have been severely restricted, including bans on girls' secondary education, limitations on work, and enforced dress codes. Despite these challenges, some women continue to advocate for their rights and seek ways to resist these restrictions. International concerns focus on the erosion of basic freedoms and the urgent need for policies that promote gender equality, safety, and access to opportunities for women and girls in Afghanistan.
