Afghan War (Second)

The Second Afghan War (2001–2021) was a conflict initiated by the United States and allied forces to dismantle the Taliban regime and eliminate al-Qaeda after the September 11 attacks. It aimed to establish a stable, democratic government in Afghanistan, combat terrorism, and remove insurgent groups. The war involved military operations, nation-building efforts, and counterinsurgency, lasting two decades with varying levels of intensity. Despite efforts, challenges such as insurgent resilience, political instability, and withdrawal led to the Taliban regaining control in 2021, ending the official international military presence.
