AF (Atrial Fibrillation)

Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a common heart rhythm disorder where the upper chambers of the heart (atria) beat irregularly and often rapidly. Instead of contracting effectively, the atria quiver, which can cause inefficient blood flow. This irregular rhythm may lead to symptoms like palpitations, fatigue, or shortness of breath, and increases the risk of blood clots, stroke, and other heart-related complications. AF can occur intermittently or persist constantly and is usually managed with medications or procedures to restore and control normal heart rhythm and reduce health risks.
