Aethelstan

Aethelstan was a king of the early medieval Kingdom of Wessex (in what is now England) during the early 10th century. He is regarded as the first king to effectively unite most of Britain under a single rule, combining various smaller kingdoms through conquest and diplomacy. His reign (924–939 AD) helped establish a foundation for a unified England. Aethelstan was known for his strong leadership, military skill, and efforts to strengthen Christianity. His rule marked a significant step toward the development of a centralized English monarchy.
