Aethelflaed was a 10th-century Anglo-Saxon noblewoman and leader, known as the "Lady of the Mercians." She was the daughter of King Alfred the Great and played a significant role in defending and governing Mercia (a region in England). After her husband's death, she took charge of their city and military forces, helping to resist Viking invasions. Aethelflaed was a skilled leader and strategist, working to unite and strengthen her kingdom. She is remembered as an influential and respected figure in early English history.
