Aerooptics
Aerooptics is the study of how air turbulence around high-speed aircraft or spacecraft affects the clarity of images viewed through or near their optical systems, like cameras or sensors. When an object moves rapidly through the air, it creates swirling air patterns (turbulence) that cause the light passing through to bend unpredictably, resulting in blurred or distorted images. Understanding aerooptics helps engineers design better optical systems and aircraft shapes to minimize these distortions, improving vision, targeting, and scientific observations during flight or space operations.
