Aereo

Aereo was a service that allowed users to stream live television broadcasts over the internet. It worked by using small antennas to capture signals from local TV stations and then transmitting those signals to users' devices. This offered a way for people to watch their favorite shows without needing a traditional cable subscription. However, Aereo faced legal challenges from broadcasters, who argued that the service violated copyright laws. In 2014, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled against Aereo, leading to the company's shutdown, citing that it did not have the right to redistribute broadcast content without permission.
