Aeolian Transport Theory

Aeolian Transport Theory refers to the process by which wind moves small particles, such as sand and dust, across various landscapes. When the wind blows strong enough, it lifts these particles from the ground and carries them over distances. There are three main types of movement: lifting particles into the air (saltation), continuous movement along the surface (surface creep), and suspension of very fine particles. This process shapes landscapes like deserts and beaches, contributing to erosion and sediment deposition, and plays a significant role in environmental systems and coastal dynamics.
