Aeolian transport

Aeolian transport refers to the movement of particles like sand, dust, and small stones caused by the action of wind. When wind blows across loose, dry surfaces, it can pick up and carry these particles over distances. This process includes three main stages: saltation (particles bouncing along the ground), suspension (particles carried high into the air), and surface creep (particles rolling or sliding along the ground). Aeolian transport shapes landscapes by forming features like dunes and eroded valleys, and it plays a key role in desert environments, coastal areas, and even affecting climate through dust particles in the atmosphere.
