AEA, or Actual Evapotranspiration, is the total amount of water that is lost from the land surface through both evaporation (water turning into vapor from soil and water bodies) and transpiration (water vapor released by plants). It reflects how much water is used by the environment and vegetation over a specific area and time period. AEA is important for managing water resources, agriculture, and understanding climate and ecosystem health, helping us determine whether land and water management practices are sustainable or if water shortages might occur.
