Adventist history revolves around the Christian movement that emerged in the 19th century, emphasizing the imminent Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Originating from the Millerite movement in the U.S., followers predicted Christ's return in 1844, which led to the Great Disappointment when it didn't occur. Out of this, the Seventh-day Adventist Church was formally established, stressing Sabbath observance on Saturday, health principles, and a focus on biblical prophecy. Today, Adventists are global, known for their healthcare and educational systems, and their core belief in Christ’s imminent return remains central to their faith and practices.
