Advanced Technology Program
The Advanced Technology Program (ATP) was a U.S. government initiative designed to support the development of cutting-edge industrial technologies. Its goal was to boost innovation and competitiveness by providing funding and resources to collaborative projects involving industry, universities, and government. These projects focused on creating new products, processes, or systems that could drive economic growth and strengthen technological leadership. ATP aimed to bridge the gap between research and commercial application, fostering breakthroughs that might be too risky or costly for private companies to pursue alone. (Note: The ATP was discontinued in 2007.)
