An Advanced Fee Scam is a type of fraud where someone promises a substantial reward, such as inheritance, investment opportunities, or business deals, but requires an upfront payment to proceed. The scammer convinces the victim that the fee is necessary for processing, legal fees, or paperwork. Once the fee is paid, the scammer often disappears, leaving the victim without the promised reward. These scams exploit trust and often involve false documents or false promises to persuade victims to part with their money before realizing they've been deceived.
