adsorption chromatography

Adsorption chromatography is a technique used to separate different substances based on how they stick, or adsorb, to a surface. A mixture is passed through a special material (called a stationary phase), which favors certain components to adhere more strongly. As the mixture moves along, some substances stick to the surface longer, while others pass through faster. This difference allows the substances to be separated and collected individually. It's commonly used in laboratories for analyzing complex mixtures, such as identifying compounds in pharmaceuticals or pollutants in water.
