ADS-C (Automatic Dependent Surveillance - Contract)
ADS-C (Automatic Dependent Surveillance–Contract) is a surveillance technology used in aviation where an aircraft automatically sends its position, altitude, speed, and other data to air traffic control via satellite or radio links at regular intervals. Unlike radar, which requires ground-based equipment to detect aircraft, ADS-C relies on the aircraft's own sensors and communication systems. This method provides precise, real-time information, especially over remote areas or oceans, enhancing safety and efficiency by allowing controllers to monitor aircraft without relying solely on traditional radar coverage.
