ADOS
The Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) is a standardized assessment tool used by trained professionals to evaluate social and communication skills, as well as behaviors often associated with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). During the assessment, interactions, play, and communication are observed and structured activities are used to identify characteristics typical of ASD. The results help clinicians determine whether a person exhibits behaviors consistent with autism and assist in forming an accurate diagnosis. ADOS is a key part of the diagnostic process, providing reliable information to support understanding and planning for intervention or support.
