Adolphus of Sweden

Adolphus of Sweden was a king who reigned from 1751 to 1771. He was part of the Swedish Royal Family and became king during a period of political tension between those wanting greater royal authority and those supporting parliamentary power. His rule was marked by attempts at reforms and efforts to strengthen the monarchy, but he faced challenges from the Swedish Riksdag (parliament). Ultimately, his reign ended when he was deposed in a coup led by his own councilors, and he was replaced by Gustav III, his brother.
