Administration routes
Administration routes refer to the different methods by which medications are given to a person. These include oral (by mouth), where pills or liquids are swallowed; injections (such as intravenous or intramuscular), where medicine is delivered directly into the body using a needle; topical, applied on the skin like creams; inhalation, breathing in medication through the nose or mouth; and other methods like patches or rectal suppositories. Each route is chosen based on the medication’s purpose, speed of action, and patient needs, ensuring effective treatment while minimizing side effects.
