ADMET stands for Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism, Excretion, and Toxicity. It describes how a drug is processed by the body: how well it is absorbed into the bloodstream, how it spreads through tissues, how the body breaks it down, how it eliminates the substances, and whether it might cause harmful effects. Understanding ADMET helps scientists develop safe and effective medications by predicting how a drug behaves in the body and identifying potential issues early in the drug development process.
