Adiabene

Adiabene was an ancient kingdom located in what is now northern Iraq, near modern Baghdad. It existed during the first century CE and was known for its wealthy Christian community and prominent rulers, such as Queen Helena. The kingdom was originally part of the Parthian Empire but gained semi-autonomous status. Adiabene combined local traditions with Hellenistic and Persian influences. Its strategic location made it a crossroads for trade and cultures. Today, the archaeological remains and historical records of Adiabene help scholars understand the diverse cultural and religious dynamics of the ancient Near East.
