Adelie Penguin
The Adelie Penguin is a small, hardy penguin species native to Antarctica. Recognizable by its black head and white ring around the eyes, it measures about 70 centimeters (28 inches) tall. Adelie Penguins feed mainly on krill, fish, and squid, diving into cold waters to hunt. They live in large colonies on the ice and are well adapted to survive in extremely cold environments, with thick feathers and a fat layer for insulation. These social birds are known for their agility on ice and are a key part of the Antarctic ecosystem.
