Acute Traumatic Encephalopathy
Acute Traumatic Encephalopathy (ATE) is a temporary brain injury caused by a sudden blow or jolt to the head, leading to symptoms like confusion, headache, dizziness, and memory problems. Unlike chronic traumatic encephalopathy, which develops over time from repeated injuries, ATE results from a single traumatic event and usually improves with proper rest and medical care. It involves swelling, inflammation, or temporary dysfunction of brain tissue. Recognizing and treating ATE early is important to prevent long-term damage and ensure a full recovery.
