Acute glomerulonephritis is a kidney condition that occurs when the glomeruli, the tiny filtering units in the kidneys, become inflamed. This inflammation can disrupt the kidneys' ability to filter waste from the blood, leading to symptoms like swelling, high blood pressure, blood in urine, and protein in urine.
