Active Thermal Control
Active Thermal Control (ATC) is a system that manages and maintains a device or equipment’s temperature using mechanical methods, such as pumps, fans, or heaters. Instead of relying solely on passive methods like insulation or radiators, ATC actively adjusts cooling or heating to keep components within optimal temperature ranges. This ensures equipment functions reliably and efficiently, especially in environments with extreme or variable temperatures, such as in spacecraft, data centers, or industrial systems. By dynamically controlling heat, ATC prevents overheating or overcooling, protecting sensitive systems and extending their lifespan.
