Activated Factor Deficiency
Activated factor deficiency is a rare bleeding disorder caused by a deficiency of specific proteins (clotting factors) in the blood that help control bleeding. Without enough of these factors, blood doesn't clot properly, leading to prolonged or abnormal bleeding after injuries or surgeries. The deficiency can be inherited or acquired later in life due to other medical conditions or treatments. Diagnosis involves blood tests that assess clotting function. Treatment often includes replacing the missing factors or using medications to promote clotting, helping prevent excessive bleeding and manage the condition effectively.
