Act of Parliament
An Act of Parliament is a law formally approved by a country's legislative body—like the UK Parliament or the U.S. Congress. It begins as a proposed bill, which must go through discussions, revisions, and approval processes. Once passed by the legislature and, in some cases, signed by the head of state, it becomes a legally binding law that governments, organizations, and individuals must follow. Acts of Parliament serve to create, modify, or repeal laws, shaping the legal framework of a country to address societal needs and issues.
