ACT (artemisinin combination therapy)

ACT, or Artemisinin-based Combination Therapy, is a treatment for malaria that uses two medicines together. One is artemisinin, which quickly reduces most of the malaria parasites in the blood, providing rapid relief. The other is a partner drug that works more slowly but helps fully clear any remaining parasites and prevents the malaria from coming back.
