Acoustic Shockwave

An acoustic shockwave is a sudden, high-pressure burst of sound energy that travels rapidly through a medium like air or water. These intense sound waves can occur naturally, such as during thunderstorms, or artificially, through specialized equipment. When they hit the body or objects, they can cause vibrations or minor damage, which is utilized in medical treatments like breaking up kidney stones (lithotripsy). However, if experienced unexpectedly or at high intensity, especially for sounds like loud noises, they can cause discomfort or hearing issues, making proper control and safety measures important.
