ACO model
An Accountable Care Organization (ACO) is a group of healthcare providers, such as doctors and hospitals, that work together to deliver coordinated care to patients. The goal is to improve health outcomes by ensuring patients receive the right care at the right time while avoiding unnecessary tests or procedures. ACOs are financially motivated to focus on quality and efficiency because they share savings with Medicare or other payers if they successfully reduce costs while maintaining good care. Essentially, it promotes teamwork among providers to enhance patient health and control healthcare expenses.
