ACO (Accountable Care Organizations)

Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) are groups of healthcare providers—such as doctors, hospitals, and other medical professionals—who work together to deliver coordinated, high-quality care to Medicare patients. The goal is to ensure patients get the right treatments while avoiding unnecessary services, reducing costs, and improving overall health outcomes. If the ACO successfully meets these goals, they share in the savings achieved for the healthcare system. Essentially, ACOs promote teamwork among providers to deliver more efficient, patient-focused care that benefits both patients and the healthcare system.
