ACL
The ACL, or anterior cruciate ligament, is one of the key stabilizing tissues inside your knee joint. It connects the thigh bone (femur) to the shin bone (tibia) and helps control the knee’s movement, especially during activities that involve sudden changes in direction or stopping. An ACL injury, often a tear, can occur from sports or accidents, leading to knee instability, pain, and swelling. Treatment ranges from rest and rehabilitation to surgery in severe cases, aiming to restore knee function and prevent future injuries.
