Acharya Gautama, also known as Gautama Maharishi, was an ancient Indian philosopher and one of the primary founders of Jainism. He is believed to have lived around the 6th century BCE and is credited with creating the Jain code of conduct and teachings on non-violence, truth, and asceticism.
