Achalasia Surgery

Achalasia surgery is a treatment for a condition where the food pipe (esophagus) has trouble moving food into the stomach due to a muscle that won't relax. The surgery, often called a "Heller myotomy," involves cutting the muscle at the lower end of the esophagus to allow food to pass more easily. Sometimes, a balloon is used to help widen this area. The procedure can relieve symptoms like difficulty swallowing and chest pain, improving the patient’s quality of life. It is typically done using minimally invasive techniques, leading to quicker recovery.
