Acetabular Revision

Acetabular revision is a surgical procedure to replace or repair the socket part of a hip replacement, called the acetabulum, when it has become loose, worn out, or damaged over time. This step may be necessary if a joint replacement causes pain, instability, or limited movement. During the revision, the surgeon removes the old socket, cleans the area, and then inserts a new socket, often with added bone support or special materials to ensure stability and proper function. The goal is to restore pain-free movement and improve the patient’s quality of life.
