Accord de Paris
The Accord de Paris, or Paris Agreement, is an international pact adopted in 2015 where countries committed to tackling climate change. Its main goal is to limit global warming to well below 2°C above pre-industrial levels, ideally to 1.5°C. Countries agreed to develop plans—called nationally determined contributions—to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and increase efforts to adapt to climate impacts. The agreement encourages transparency and global cooperation, with regular updates to strengthen commitments. It aims to protect ecosystems, improve sustainability, and ensure a healthier planet for future generations.
