Accessible Canada Act

The Accessible Canada Act, enacted in 2019, aims to create a barrier-free Canada by identifying, removing, and preventing obstacles that hinder people with disabilities from participating fully in society, work, and community life. It applies to federal jurisdictions like banking, telecommunications, transportation, and government services. The Act requires organizations to develop accessibility plans, set standards, and report on their progress. Its goal is to promote equal access, independence, and inclusion for all Canadians with disabilities, ensuring they can live, work, and engage more easily in everyday activities.
