Acadian people

The Acadian people are descendants of French settlers who colonized parts of eastern Canada, especially the Maritime provinces, starting in the 17th century. Known for their unique language (a French dialect called Acadian French), culture, and history, they faced significant challenges, including displacement during the 18th-century Expulsion by the British. Many Acadians migrated to places like Louisiana, where they became known as Cajuns. Today, Acadians maintain their distinct cultural identity through music, festivals, and language, celebrating their rich heritage while living across Canada and internationally.
