AC electric fields

AC (alternating current) electric fields are electric fields where the direction and strength change periodically over time, typically following a sinusoidal pattern. Unlike DC (direct current) which flows steadily in one direction, AC fields switch direction, causing the electric field to oscillate back and forth. This is how electrical power is transmitted in homes and grids because AC allows efficient transmission over long distances and easy voltage transformation. The changing field influences charged particles and electronic components, enabling devices to operate, and is fundamental to power systems, radio waves, and many communication technologies.
