AC/DC Electricity
AC/DC electricity refers to two types of electrical current used to power devices. Direct Current (DC) flows in a single, steady direction, like batteries providing consistent power. Alternating Current (AC) changes direction periodically, creating a wave-like pattern, which is standard for household power because it’s more efficient for transmitting electricity over long distances. AC can be easily transformed to different voltages, making it practical for power grids. Both types are essential: DC powers batteries and electronics, while AC is used for homes and industry.
