
Abul Kalam Azad
Abul Kalam Azad was an influential Indian scholar, freedom fighter, and senior leader in the Indian National Congress during the struggle for independence from British rule. Born on November 11, 1888, he was a prominent advocate for education and communal harmony. Azad played a key role in mobilizing public support against colonial rule and was an early supporter of India's unity across religious lines. After independence, he served as the first Minister of Education in independent India, where he made significant contributions to developing the educational system. He was awarded the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian honor, posthumously in 1992.
