Absence of Evidence
"Absence of evidence" means that, after careful investigation, there is no information or proof to support a particular claim or hypothesis. It doesn't necessarily mean the claim is false; rather, there is currently no data to confirm it. Human knowledge can be limited, and the lack of evidence may be due to insufficient research, difficulty in detection, or the event not occurring. Recognizing absence of evidence is important—it indicates that we should refrain from making definitive conclusions until more information becomes available.
