Aberdare Railway
The Aberdare Railway was a branch line in Wales built in the 19th century to serve the coal mining areas around Aberdare. It connected local collieries and communities to larger railway networks, facilitating the transport of coal and passengers. Designed to support industrial growth, the line included several stations and sidings, enabling efficient freight movement. Over time, declining coal industry and changing transportation needs led to reduced use, and much of the line was closed by the mid-20th century. Today, remnants of the railway reflect its historical importance in regional industry and transport.
