ABCDE rule
The ABCDE rule is a guideline to help identify potentially concerning skin spots or moles. It stands for Asymmetry (one half doesn’t match the other), Border irregularity (edges are uneven or jagged), Color variation (multiple colors or uneven color), Diameter (larger than 6 millimeters, about the size of a pencil's eraser), and Evolving (any change in size, shape, color, or appearance over time). Using this rule helps people spot signs that a mole might be melanoma, a serious type of skin cancer, prompting timely medical evaluation.
